Client Programs - individuals must go through a full intake process with the appropriate case manager before beginning programs deemed to be client only programs. Please be reminded that all clients are welcome to participate in the open programs

Grieving Parents Group:  Open peer facilitated support group of parents/caregivers/ grandparents who are grieving the loss of a child whether it be through miscarriage/stillbirth/infant loss of adult children. The third Thursday evening of each month from 6-7 :30 p.m. Light meal provided.

Caregiver Support Group:  This group is held on the second Thursday at 1:00- 3:00 p.m. and fourth Thursday of at 10:30 - 12:30 followed by going out to lunch every month.  Caregivers get together to share their stories, challenges & triumphs with a volunteer facilitator who leads them through their group discussion and support. Special activities and themes are also planned. 

Grief Support Group:  This 8 week, closed support group is where bereaved individuals meet to support each other in their grief journey. Each week will offer a new topic to explore.

Reiki- is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us an is what causes us to be alive. 

Reflexology: Individual sessions using of gentle pressure on certain parts of the foot to produce an effect in the body to help reduce pain and stress.

Guided Meditation: Incorporate guided meditation into your everyday life. Access the noble silence, practice proper breathing & learn how to separate yourself from what is happening around you.

Yoga Fit (Thursday) This is a 10 week registered program which focuses on body awareness breathing and gentle stretching from 9:15 - 10:15 am.  Advanced level.

Yoga: (Monday)   A 10 week register program combining gentle stretching and body awareness with breathing techniques. Yoga helps reduce stress and achieve a sense of calm. Modified for all levels, 11:30 -12:30 pm.

Monday Afternoon Tea: Enjoy a variety of tea and baked goods with supportive camaraderie. For residents and their family and friends.

Circle of Friends: Join us for an 8 week support group focused on individuals who are living with a life-limiting illness.  Using each other's experiences, the group will focus on the changes that occur not only within yourself, but in you day to day life after being diagnosed with a life-limiting illness.

Walk With Me: A walking group with others walking the journey alongside one another, whether you are living with a life limiting illness, caregiving, or bereaved. This group meets off site in Alliston for a 20-30 minute walk, followed by social time at the Gibson Centre. Children are welcome.

Circle of Hope: This is a support group for the bereaved or those processing their grief on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 12:00 pm -1:30 p.m. Lunch is provided, pre-registration is required.

Caregiver 101: A 6 week program-about becoming a caregiver for a loved one or friend-learn what it means to you; how to become an advocate for your loved one; discover if you are grieving; prepare for end of life conversations.

New- Powerful Tools for Caregivers: A program for caregivers facilitated by caregivers with lived experience about taking care of your, communicating feelings, communicating in difficult situations, learning and making caregiving decisions.

Chronic Disease Self- Management Program:  A 6-week program that helps adults with chronic health conditions and their caregivers to manage pain, fatigue, healthy eating, physical fitness, deal with difficult emotions and depression management to better manager their symptoms and their daily life.

Spa Day: Complementary, 40 minute spa services. Choose manicure, pedicure or shampoo, wash & blow-dry. 16 spaces available. Provided by Banting Cosmo Cares!

Afternoon Euchre: Enjoy time with friends while playing this exciting game.

St. John’s Therapy Dogs: Enjoy the therapeutic presence and joy shared through these amazing care providers.

Come Sing Along: Share the joy of music! Sing some of your favourites from the 50’s and onward. Instruments welcome.
