Care-Givers

Care- Giver Group

Caregivers are the unsung heroes of Hospice. If caregivers are supported early in the illnesses of their loved ones they are more likely to know about community services available to support them and to use these services in a timely fashion thus giving the client more comfort and preventing burn out of the caregiver. We encourage our clients and caregivers to be knowledgeable about their illness and to use all the services available.

Caregivers meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 1 – 3 pm to share their stories, challenges, and triumphs with a facilitator who leads them through group discussion.

They meet the 4th Thursday either for lunch or to have a speaker or special event.

Caregiver Transition Group

This group is for members of the caregiver group who have recently lost their loved one. As they transition to their new status they have the support of the group they already know and a facilitator to help them adjust. They meet the 3rd Thursday of the month at 1pm.
